Chisel’s Workshop / Arma 3

Missions
& Mods.

Everything below is on the Steam Workshop under Chisel’s Workshop. The LZ Trainer and Kavala Heli Time Trial are scenarios built around helicopter flying; the Flight HUD and Replay Camera are standalone companion mods that work in any mission.

01 ScenarioFeatured

Kavala Heli Time Trial

Race a helicopter through the streets of Kavala, holding rooftop height and keeping inside the course. Pick from twelve hand-built routes or generate a random one, then review your run from ten camera angles—including a full AAN News broadcast.

  • 12 routes
  • 10 replay views
  • No mods required

What’s included

  • Twelve hand-built routes from Easy to Hard, plus a random route generator.
  • Fly any helicopter available in your game, including modded aircraft.
  • Stay low for time bonuses; fly too high or wide and penalties add up. Cutting the course invalidates the run.
  • Best times tracked per route and helicopter, with a pace trail to compare your current run against your last or best attempt.
  • Save, load, import, and export replays, then watch from ten views including AAN News, Pilot, Spectators, and Bird’s Eye Follow.
  • No mods required; ACE compatible. TrackIR can control the replay camera.

02 Scenario

Chisel's LZ Trainer (Helicopter Landings)

A repeatable helicopter insertion trainer built around Kavala. Fly hot approaches under pressure, touch down without killing your passengers, and watch every run back in full multi-camera replay to see what actually happened.

  • 11 replay views
  • Tactical scoring
  • Free flight

What’s included

  • Full action replay across 11 camera views (Pilot, Ground, Overhead, Enemy Fire, and more) with pause, rewind, slow-mo, orbit, and freelook — because a single camera angle never tells the whole truth.
  • Flight-path ribbon colour-coded by speed (green/yellow/red) to compare your current approach against a clean reference line and spot where you flared too late.
  • Choice of insertion: standard touchdown, precision Hover Drop, or ACE fast-rope — or pick your own custom LZ anywhere in the city.
  • Tactical scoring out of 500: balances time and accuracy against altitude masking, with heavy penalties for structural damage and passenger casualties.
  • Save, load, and export replays to build a personal library of runs or trade flight data with other pilots.
  • Free Flight mode for unscored, pressure-free practice on any rooftop, hospital pad, or tight courtyard around Kavala.

“This is the BEST ARMA 3 DLC to practice tactical helicopter landings in a dynamic environment that you can set. It mimics gameplay so you feel the stress of the enemy around you as your landing.”

03 Mod

CHS Flight HUD

A live stick-and-rudder overlay, artificial horizon, and keystroke display for helicopter pilots. It’s the same stick-cam HUD from the LZ Trainer’s replay system, but available live while you’re actually flying in any mission.

  • Live flight inputs
  • Any mission
  • Client-side

What’s included

  • Live cyclic, collective, and pedal inputs showing pitch, bank, and rudder deflection in real time.
  • Dynamic keystroke display that reads your actual key bindings and lights up the keys you’re pressing, laid out to match your physical keyboard.
  • Draggable and fully repositionable on screen, remembered across game sessions, with toggleable components (inputs only, keyboard only, or both).
  • Works cleanly with or without CBA_A3, with its own fallback pause-menu settings button either way.
  • Dedicated toggle and configuration keybinds, so it runs client-side without needing mission-side scripts.

04 Mod

CHS Replay Camera

Drives the pilot-view replay camera to follow your actual head movements and zoom in real time. Instead of staring rigidly at the instrument panel, the camera turns where you actually looked during the approach.

  • Head tracking
  • Pilot-view replay
  • Optional mod

What’s included

  • Smoothly tracks real-time freelook direction during pilot-view replay, mapped to whatever key you use for Freelook.
  • Reproduces your in-flight zoom, capturing the moments you leaned in to check an obstacle or scan for wires.
  • Backward compatible with every replay recorded by the LZ Trainer, old or new.
  • Entirely optional client-side mod — replays still work without it, just with the standard fixed forward view.
